You may think there is time until Valentine's Day but you're wrong. The two weeks will roll like a tiny marble and before you know it you will be celebrating with your loved one! But no celebration is complete without a handmade gift!
Here are two unusual handmade gifts DIYs that you might find interesting.
The first one is by Michelle of the Blue Moss Girls. Wouldn't it be lovely to make an edible ring for Valentine's and gift it to anyone with a sweet tooth?

The second one has something edible about it because it can be used as a cake topper... a wedding cake topper, I mean. Well, The question can always be popped on Valentine's Day and with such a gift who can say no?

How are you getting ready for Valentine's Day?
Afraid, I don't! Got my man 42 years', coming up 43, ago, we are nice to each other every day, and he's now disabled and ill with the winter bug going round hereabouts, so is not a happy bunny!
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is going to pass us by this year, I fear - unless he's a helluva sight better!. However, that won't stop me wishing everyone else a great day
Pity, isn't it, that it falls before Feb.29? Ladies with a birthday before that auspicious date might feel inhibited about taking the lead, maybe? On the other hand, in these liberated times, perhaps not! Good luck and much happiness to all, anyway!
Isobel, I wish you your husband gets better and most of all that you keep on being nice to each other with or without Valentine's day.
DeleteThat clothes peg idea is so adorable! Love it! Thanks for sharing!

These are great ideas! I love the clothespin. So much better than the traditional plastic couple!
ReplyDeleteMy husband actually did ask me to marry him on Valentine's day, 1987. We were cross country skiing above Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains between California and Nevada. We stopped for lunch off the trail and he popped the question. It was all terribly romantic!!
Thanks for bringing back this memory Sonya - life gets so busy I sometimes forget the link between the two!!
Laurie, aren't you a lucky lady! Cross country skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains! I got the goosebumps! i can imagine such a romantic, red-cheeked situation :))
DeleteBut you are right, life tends to distract us and that is why we need to counteract and hold on to good memories and warm relationships!
That clothespin is so stinkin' cute, I love it! Honestly, Valentine's Day has never been a huge deal to either my husband or I. I much prefer sweet kindness every day of the year... but some flowers might be nice! ;)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Melinda, it's the same with my husband and me. Valentine's day is a good reason for celebration though, another moment to spend together and hopefully create a nice memory!
DeleteCute ideas for Valentines Day! The clothes pin is such a great idea. My husband and I keep it simple on Valentines Day, a nice meal, a few drinks, and great conversations and laughs.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. What an adorable idea - that clothespin cake topper is fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteI probably won't be doing much this Valentine's Day, since I haven't got a boyfriend...seriously, there aren't many guys in the homeschool group, and the ones I do know are just friends. I'll probably have to wait until I get a job/go to college to get another boyfriend, haha!! xD
Loving the clothespin craft...too adorable!!
ReplyDeletei want the wedding cake topper even without the cake! its so cute! i get so excited with all the diy's and i dont know what to do first. =)
ReplyDeleteAnd can you believe how simple it is! I too am loving it. We might get to creating something similar, why not?
