Natural Anti-Wrinkle Mask With Bananas

Did you know that apart from being a tasty and healthy snack packed with vitamins, bananas constitute the perfect natural anti-wrinkle face mask? Bananas will revitalize and moisturize normal to dry skin in the winter while the heating dries out the air indoors and will help in the summer when the sun can naturally dry out your skin.

A banana face mask is not only cheap but also healthy.  You can make it in less than 10 minutes and you can apply it guilt-free because there will be no carcinogens, preservatives, artificial coloring or perfumes, and you can eat whatever is left unused - sustainability at its best!

You will need
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
This natural anti-wrinkle mask has the added bonus of yogurt and honey. Yogurt is known to be a natural exfoliator, and honey is a moisturizer.

How to do it
Mash the banana to a smooth paste with the help of a fork, add the yogurt and the honey and warm the mixture just a bit in a sauce pan. I would advise against using a microwave oven for warming up this mask (or anything) because I think we have enough radiation around us to treat even our food/beauty products with it.

Apply the warm mask gently to your face and neck. In this way your pores will open and the cleansing and moisturizing process will be more effective. Leave for 20 - 30 minutes and wash with lukewarm water. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Troubleshooting
If the mixture turns out too runny, you can add a teaspoon of oatmeal flower to bind it together.

This anti-wrinkle banana mask has the added bonus of yogurt and honey. Yogurt and oatmeal are known to be natural exfoliators, removing excess skin cells,  while honey and bananas are anti-aging moisturizers that will smooth your skin and reduce your wrinkles. The combination of exfoliating, healing and moisturizing, while rejuvenating makes this quick and simple natural mask a very special treat.

Important: Be careful when trying new masks on your face. Stop immediately if you have any reactions such as a rash or an increase in acne. When in doubt seek advice from a dermatologist.

  2. This is fantastic! I'm really not a fan of ripe bananas or the taste of cooked bananas (stange, I know). Now I have a use for those last too ripe bananas that no one will eat!

    Thanks Sonya!

It would be heaven if it is effective as a comercial brand.

  7. Haha, love this: "you can apply it guilt-free because there will be no carcinogens, preservatives, artificial coloring or perfumes, and you can eat whatever is left unused"! xD Priceless!

By the way, I love the new Kanelstrand look. :) So cute!

  10. Sonya I am a firm believer that Mother Nature has provided us everything we need for clean living and perfect health. We've become so used to trusting doctors over all else that we forgot how to trust ourselves, our bodies and the Earth. Yay for bananas!! :)

    1. You can use it as many times as you want. There is nothing in that mask that can harm you. I would suggest to start with several times a week and see how it goes.

  13. You said not to warm it in the microwave...so how else would you warm it? Will it warm up as you mix? Or in your hands??
