If I lived alone this would be so much easier, but with three girls, a husband and many pets, there is always something that needs picking up! The chores are shared amongst all in my house, but even though everyone has always been expected to clean up when they're done, I still find myself reminding... often! But what a difference it makes! :)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-4990320158726100872012-02-08T01:36:22.917+01:002012-02-08T01:36:22.917+01:00Thanks for reading Martha! :)Thanks for reading Martha! :)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-2504146704612937342012-02-08T01:35:56.654+01:002012-02-08T01:35:56.654+01:00Lol Sweet Posy, a tatoo would be helpful... ;) It ...Lol Sweet Posy, a tatoo would be helpful... ;) It is even harder as others around you are decluttering and sending all of their excess your way! My mom does this a lot, often I won't even let the stuff into the house, but go through it before it has a chance to clutter up my home! I do love having little treasures here and there that remind me of family, I just choose my heirlooms very carefully. Good luck on your simplifying journey. :)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-17928499418861351882012-02-08T01:31:39.390+01:002012-02-08T01:31:39.390+01:00Sounds like a great plan Brittany, use the free ti...Sounds like a great plan Brittany, use the free time while you have it! And from the looks of things you jumped right in ~ incredible! :) I've found that your mind does want to hold onto things, despite the fact that these items may not have seen the light of day in ages! Releasing it does make you feel so free and unencumbered! And with practice I've found it gets easier and easier to let go! :)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-51086663573225761532012-02-08T01:26:44.221+01:002012-02-08T01:26:44.221+01:00Great goal Brandi, I have a feeling most of us hav...Great goal Brandi, I have a feeling most of us have enough supplies to last for quite some time if we just focused on using up what we have before purchasing more. I struggle in the craft department, but don't worry myself about it as long as I've still got space to spare. ;) Wow, I'm flattered that you want to share this post with your husband ~ good luck on your decluttering journey! :)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-42674019729289574352012-02-08T01:23:03.524+01:002012-02-08T01:23:03.524+01:00Somes things are always harder than others, aren&#...Somes things are always harder than others, aren't they Kim? I have to say that only keeping what comfortably fits into the space I have is probably one of the most important things I do. By applying this 'rule' I've found that I often have to clear stuff out, which it turn makes me really take the time to consider what I have and love the most. So really, I cover a couple of my rules in one fell swoop. ;)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-89180100899360812312012-02-08T01:18:56.699+01:002012-02-08T01:18:56.699+01:00I'm still giggling at this My Hideaway because...I'm still giggling at this My Hideaway because my studio often looks life a bomb went off when I'm in the middle of a project! It actually drives me crazy, I make such a mess, but I can't seem to be bothered to stop and pick up until I'm done... I just want to create! Within the past year I created a craft space for myself and I LOVE it. I feel so happy when I'm in there, surrounded by all of my implements of creation! I wish the same for you. :)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-74076890039899076052012-02-08T01:15:13.521+01:002012-02-08T01:15:13.521+01:00I've always done the same Deborah, and now my ...I've always done the same Deborah, and now my girls are pros at cleaning, sorting and organizing! It makes a huge difference in the overall tidiness of the house. :) Good for your son, making enough money off of unwanted toys to upgrade his computer, I bet he felt pretty great about that! I usually just donate my 'junk' to the local thrift store. When I clean I usually like to move it out of the house as quickly as possible!! ;)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-35562681670836502822012-02-08T01:12:07.887+01:002012-02-08T01:12:07.887+01:00I definitely think that cleaning as you go really ...I definitely think that cleaning as you go really does make a difference Paige! I find that tidy surroundings really do foster the same peaceful state of mind ~ I can think clearer and I'm much more productive! But, my downfall is craft stores... I could lose myself in aisle upon aisle of glorious craft supplies! :) I've been living these Simple Living Rules for years now and to my joy see them manifested in my three girls. They regularly go on cleaning sprees and feel so great after getting rid of unwanted and unneeded 'stuff'! :)Melindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287542957454202351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318789008187152060.post-66604926248756185052012-02-08T01:03:19.517+01:002012-02-08T01:03:19.517+01:00Thanks so much for reading Christine!
